Derick’s Story
Derick Ryan Quintana was a young man who lived life to its fullest. He deeply loved his family, friends and all those lucky enough to know him. Derick had a very close relationship with his mom and dad and they built a life together that they loved. Sallie and Brandon are extremely grateful for the 25 beautiful years they had with Derick.
Derick was witty, optimistic and surrounded himself with positive people. He played many sports and loved to be active and to be physically challenged. He made mistakes without regret, instead seeing them as life lessons. Derick worked hard and learned quickly. He was excited about his future as a Program Manager with an aerospace company, as were his parents.
Derick had his first seizure at 18 years old. On August 5, 2021, at 25 years old, he passed away from his fifth seizure. The doctors were never able to diagnose the cause of his seizures.
